Usually I post my end of the year to-do list in October, but this year things are running behind. Wayyy behind. Teaching has really taken much more time than I could have ever imagined. So here goes:

1. Finish the Cowl Scarf I started last year. Am on the last skein, so hopefully on Thanksgiving I can plow through it.
Done! 11/28/2013

2. Put New Zealand photos in an album. I did this for mom last year for xmas and then never finished my own. Luckily I can use hers as a reference now. (Prints are already printed and album already purchased).
Done 12/28/2013

3. Go on a mini vacay to somewhere. Anywhere. Preferably the day after I get done teaching.
Done! Duluth 12/13 - 12/15/2013

4. Block out one day before the end of the year to do nothing. NOTHING. (This might be the hardest item on my list).
Done! 12/29/2013

5. Pedicure + TJ Maxx + Revenge date with Rachel.
TJ Maxx 11/24/2013, Pedicure 11/29/2013, Revenge 12/28/2013

6. Host the 4th annual mini pies in jars party!
Done! 11/23/2013

7. Make New Years cards. Send them BEFORE New Years.
Ordered! 1/2/2014

8. Turn the quilt top I made last year into an actual quilt.
Done! 1/4/2014

9. Start collaborative project with Amy, Rachel, and Emily.

10. Clean out my closet. Again. I did it last year and it was amazing. (Side note, give clothes to a shelter, not to Goodwill).

11. Get new tires. Let's stay on the road this winter, people.
Done! Boom! 11/19/2013

12. Make a yoga mat bag for my yoga buddy, Katie.
Done! 11/29/2013

13. Frame a bunch of prints and have Rachel over to hang 'em all up.
Frames done 11/29/2013

14. Clean out the fridge. I'm talking scrub. It's getting gross in there.
Done! 2/9/2014

13 by 2013

About this time last year I participated in oh, hello friend's 12 by 2012 challenge–to get a list of 12 things done before ringing in 2012. I totally killed my list, so I thought I would do a 13 by 2013 this year.

Here goes:

1. Print New Zealand pics (and put them in the album I've already purchased).
Done! Though I gave the album to my mom for Xmas... Guess I'd better do a reprint for myself. 12/23/2012

2. The obligatory gym goal: hit up the gym 3 times a week. Minimum. Sounds easy, but it's really hard to make time at this time of year.

3. Pull the trigger and actually buy a new TV or shut up about it.

4. Hang up bedroom curtains. For realz, yo.
Done! Thanks to my friend Rachel for the use of her tools and expert eye. 11/4/2012

5. Frame the following posters: Draplin MN print, Hamilton Wood Type Coffee Print, Sunshine Print, Expletive Print, Tropical Print, Poster Offensive, Ideas Poster and Plaid Studios Coffee print. Then convince someone to buy this poster for me for xmas and frame that. (I'm running low on wall space, ps.)

6. Paint my bathroom. White or Gray. or Bright?
Done! Went with a dark gray, now I'm deciding if it's too gray. Indecision. 12/10/2013

7. Get my new leather boots repaired. (Scuffed them already, dammit!)

8. Buy colored jeans. I really like these teal ones.
Done! Thank you, Target. (I got the bright teal pair) 11/24/2012

9. Design projects: Poster Offensive, MN Nice Poster, New Years Cards
Poster Offensive Done! 11/2/2012
MN Nice Done! 11/12/2012

10. Get the struts in my car fixed.
Done! Expensive, but a load off my mind. 11/15/2012

11. Make the xmas gifts I have in mind (it's a surprise, so I can't say!)
Done! See #1 12/23/2012

12. Knit Cowl Scarf (or at least learn the stitch and get a good ways in, finish before spring)

13. Finish the quilt top I started in 2012 (it's currently all over the floor of my living room in the attempts to force myself to finish).
Done! 12/23/2013

12 by 2012 // #3

Yet another item off my checklist–done! One of my bff's had a baby on Friday, a little girl named Quinn! (I knew it would be a girl!) I went to the hospital to meet her yesterday and she became the first baby I've ever held!

I admit, I was terrified, but she was a doll. I think we're going to be spending a lot more time together.

9.  Buy the URL I have my eye on

Done! I have also requested an invite to Cargo so I can get my portfolio site up... baby steps, but it feels good to be moving forward! Once I have the site up I'll let you know what domain I picked- I like to be suspenseful like that ;)

12 by 2012

Danni (of oh, hello friend) has a posed a great challenge of doing 12 things before 2012. With just about 12 weeks to go, I think it's a great idea to set some shorter term goals. My list is mostly things that have been nagging at me and that I always mean to do, but somehow they never actually get done. Maybe I'll try and take pictures of it all... but that would probably be #13 on the list...

Updated Feb 08, 2012

1. Finish my office (hang shelf and sconces, put doors on cabinet, hang art) (shelf and sconces up! The lights make a HUGE difference! Art is up! Decided against doors on the cabinet as they are $90 bucks a piece... oh well)

2. Find a shade for bedroom lamp and hang bedroom curtains (lampshade found for $1.50 in the IKEA "as is" section–score!!  ...curtains still aren't up)

3. Hold a baby for the first time (luckily one of my bff's is expecting a turkey day baby!) (done!)

4. Cash in credit card points for something fun (gonna keep saving for 6,000 more points)

5. Go to NYC, see #4 (done!!)

6. Run 250 miles (approx 20 miles a week... I was doing this easily until life got crazy a couple weeks ago and I fell off the bandwagon) (finished with 2 days to spare!)

7. Cut all the pieces for the quilt along challenge my mom and I are going to do (decided to do this tutorial instead, done! Now I just need to start sewing since it's all over my living room floor)

8. Make a bag for my yoga mat (so it can sit in my closet in style)

10. Finish archiving all my old computer files–don't want those old crusty files moved onto my new machine (I have everything on a hard drive, but haven't burned discs of pictures and really important stuff...soon).

11. Send Xmas cards now that I'm a big-girl-homeowner (Opted for New Years cards, but they were custom designed and sent by the end of the first week in Jan, hooray!)

12. Do some fun freelance design: participate in Halloween and Xmas poster shows. Design STDs for a friend's wedding. (Halloween, check! Xmas, check! New Years card, check! Save the Dates, check! Valentine poster, check! I'm on a roll!)
