Was in Chicago this past weekend and caught a production of Peter Pan- amazing. It was in a tent so it had an Imax like background and trapdoors and puppets and, of course, flying.

Don't even think it...
Editor of New York Magazine, Kurt Andersen, has a list of words he likes his employees to avoid. I completely agree with "zeitgeist," and always secretly judge people when I hear them use it.

They Say
I love that he showed process.. I think I even like the pencil drawing more than the finished product.

Farmer's Market
Confession: I am a Farmer's Market junkie. Every year I anxiously await the last weekend in April for it to open. I tend to wander through several times in the vain attempt to pretend the experience won't have to end. It doesn't hurt that a close friend and I use this time to catch up every week as we wander through the stalls swilling coffee.
I almost always give in to the temptation of freshly baked baguettes (I recently rediscovered my toaster, and let me tell you a fresh baked, toasted baguette smothered in butter makes extra gym time totally worth it), and later in the summer I'll buy mostly tomatoes and herbs.
But my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE part of the market are the fresh bouquets of flowers that run about 5 bucks. There haven't been any yet this year, fingers crossed they will be at the market in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime I keep repeatedly looking at pics of the bouquets I've bought in the past...

Graphite Portraits
I'm IN LOVE with these portraits. I'm not much of a fan of family portraits (I don't think we've ever even taken one, now that I think about it...), or yearly portraits beyond those horrible school photos, but these make me reconsider!

Absence Explained
My lack of blogging this past week was actually not just laziness, but a great road trip with my best friend. I flew out to LA last Friday and spent the last six days driving through the southwest back to Minneapolis.
We stopped in Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Denver (loved!!! Denver). I had never seen the Grand Canyon and was blown away (almost literally, super windy).
I'll post some pics once I actually upload pics to my computer, in the meantime, TGIF!

Laugh Time: Lorraine
We took a bit of a brain break at work today to enjoy some old school Mad TV... Everyone's a bit phlegmy around here, so we all end up sounding like Lorraine, clearing our throats...
