DIY: Summer Wreath

Since I live in a condo and don't have to worry about the weather beating on my door, this summer wreath is perfect!

Office Envy

Jessica Hische is known for lettering, but more on that later. Right now I must say I am loving her office. Contemporary without being cold and personalized without being cluttered. Maybe one day I'll finish my office. *sigh*

DIY: Cocktail Lantern

It's a bit kooky for my taste and the video is super nerdy, but hey, why not. Good summer project.

Nightstand Envy

I just may have to figure out how to make this... looks do-able, right?

Sleeping Porch

I just love the sound of it. Sleeping Porch. Two fantastic ideas, combined. This image from Design Sponge makes me want to curl up on a spring afternoon with a novel for a nap.

Inspiration

Pics I stumbled across today that I felt the need to download. Perhaps posting them will help me not forget about them.

I really want to decorate a cake like this... just the linework alone is enviable.

And this makes me think that patterned curtains might be worth a go in my bedroom of dark charcoal paint.

Furniture Envy

I found this photo on Jenna's EAT DRINK PRETTY site (a daily read–I love me a good Minnesotan blogger). She was featuring the cute party decor (shot by photographer Megan Norman) but I just can't get past that teal cabinet! Can I have that please!?

Blogs I stalk: Jen Chu Design

I've posted a pic from this blog before, but I wanted to show my favorite transformation on her blog. Jen Chu is an art director for Project Runway and her taste is fantastic- there are so many ideas I want to steal from this room alone.

The "before" shot

The "after" shot

I've posted this one before-  love the wallpaper
stripe with hooks as an accessory organizer.

I want to get that desk and use it as an entertainment center
for the TV in my bedroom.

I love the pop of an accent color with a nightstand.

And the pattern whore in me loves the triangles... and that scarf collection.

Stencils on the stairs

The way these beautiful moroccan stencils are used makes me wish I had some stairs to decorate.

Drool-worthy Decor

As I continue to settle into my first purchased home I find myself obsessed with interior design nuggets on blogs and am reminded of the days in jr high when I watched massive amounts of Trading Spaces and dreamed of being an interior designer. Anywhoo, I thought I'd share some of my favorite inspirational shots from the past couple of months (I didn't realize how many of these were from sfgirlbybay, if you don't already follow her blog- you should, it's delightful).

And pardon my corny commentary on each shot, I just can't help but describe how I picture myself in the situation or why I love it in the first place.

This loveseat makes me want to sit cross-legged with a cup of cocoa, a chenille throw and a good book in the middle of winter....

How relaxed does this bedroom look? I could take a summertime nap here any day.

I already have plans to steal this scarf storage idea: a strip of funky wallpaper with hooks for accessories- done and done!
LINK
I'm going to make a painting like that. Seriously, so moody (and it'll be fun to squish the colors around to create that mottled appearance).
LINK
Floor cushions in fun prints for when there's too many tushies for the sofa! Not to mention easily updatable for when you get sick of your previous pattern choices.

I can't even believe it's the same room- who would want to block that view!?
LINK
The inspiration for my bedroom. My color ended up a little more charcoal and a little less green (I was trying to avoid a pukey sage at all costs), but I'm loving the dark room- so comfy and looks great with my lime green comforter. Now on to find the perfect white (not beige! why can I only find off-white!?) curtains...

Poster Love

There is nothing I love more than getting mail... with the possible exception of getting packages in the mail!

Just arrived is this poster from Plaid Creative. Between my coffee addiction (they list my favorite drink that I had in Australia- the flat white) and love of all things kooky (I mean really, a drink called the Miami Vice?), this seemed like an obvious buy.

I can't wait to get it into a frame- my kitchen wall will be so happy to see it!
